A toddler was bitten on the cheeks by her mother’s boyfriend before he hurled the youngster onto the ground multiple times, police say.
Nicholas Jones, 24, is said to have admitted abusing the 16 month-old last Friday, while her mother was at work and he was watching her children.
The assault left the little girl suffering severe injuries that required hospital treatment, with staff at the Cincinnati facility where she was treated calling police over fears she had been abused. She is expected to make a full recovery.

He was arrested the same day as the attack took place, and reportedly confessed to what he had done Wednesday, Fox 19 reported.
Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said: ‘Anytime someone abuses a child, it’s one the worst things that can happen and will not be tolerated.
‘We are going to make sure he gets the maximum from the court system.’
Jones looked after eight children with his partner, four of which he fathered with her. It is unclear if his alleged victim was one of his own children.

His aunt Jessica Morris said: ‘The police are saying that, I guess, he slammed the baby on the ground a couple times and was biting the baby.
Jones was charged with felonious assault and is being held in Middletown City Jail on $60,000 bond ahead of his next court appearance on Tuesday.
