An outraged realtor confronted a man he claims ripped US flags off World War II veterans’ graves so he could pee on them.
George Gatteny, 53, says he saw the man yanking the four Stars and Stripes from the Somerville Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Somerville, Ma.after work Monday, before defiling them beside a statue.
He explained what happened next in a Facebook post, writing: ‘The guy took the flags and tossed them behind the statue.

‘The guy started urinating on the flags. I quickly pulled over, got out of my car and headed over to them.

‘The girl was standing by the gate (she must have been the look out). I started yelling at them to stop, asking him as I approached “what the hell he was doing”.
‘He stopped urinating, pulled up his pants and started walking out of the memorial. Both of them walked up Broadway laughing.’
Gatteny said that he returned to photograph what the man had done, before pursuing him again so he could get a picture of the alleged culprit.

‘There are consequences for our actions. They probably thought no would do anything. They were WRONG!’
Gatteny has since filed a police report, with officers now investigating the alleged desecration.
Somverville Mayor Joe Curtatone also tweeted about the incident, writing: ‘This is a foul and reprehensible act, and nothing justifies it.
‘It’s the act of someone operating at the absolute lowest level of humanity.’
