A 22-year-old man was knocked unconscious and left needing metal plates in his jaw after a row over a woman outside a south-east London pub.
Scotland Yard today released CCTV images of two men wanted for questioning over the “nasty” attack at the Sovereign of the Seas pub in Petts Wood, Bromley.
The man had been drinking with friends in the Wetherspoon pub in Queensway when the group left around 12.30am to get food from a nearby takeaway.
Two men approached one of the victim’s female friends and began talking to her prompting him to step in and tell them to leave her alone, police said.
One of the suspects then punched the man in the face knocking him unconscious.
He was taken to hospital where he was forced to have metal plates inserted in his jaw following the “unnecessary” assault on July 7.
Detective Constable Dean Roberts said: “This was a nasty and unnecessary assault on a man who was simply trying to take care of a friend.
“Anyone who recognises these men is asked to contact us as soon as possible.”
