A high school teacher was filmed allegedly punching a pupil repeatedly, so hard that he staggered backwards and was knocked to the ground.
Marston Riley, 64, has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse after footage of the incident, filmed by others in the class, went viral.
It isn’t clear exactly what happened in the lead up to the incident, but the student can be heard saying: ‘You got me f***ed up [n-word], you got me f***ed up bro.’
He throws the basketball he is holding at the teacher and says: ‘Why you say you’re gonna beat my a**? Wassup? Sheesh!’

After around a minute, the teacher appears to smack him in the face, beginning a charge of pummeling as other students watch and film.
It ends when another adult, apparently a student resource officer, arrives in the room and restrains the teacher after around 30 seconds of violence.
More teachers then arrive and Riley is arrested at the school in Maywood, California.

Some witnesses claimed the fight was a set-up to provoke Riley, who was previously filmed allegedly punching another student.
One student told KTLA: ‘Everything was planned out. There were students there who were already taking out their phones to record the incident. I don’t think it’s completely fair that they’re just putting the blame all on (Riley), when I personally know that he’s a good guy,’ one student said.
A GoFundMe page set up for the teacher has raised $23,000 towards his legal fees, headlined ‘Teachers deserve respect’.
‘The public does not understand the daily verbal and physical abuse teachers endure,’ one woman donating said. ‘They receive little to no support.’
Riley says on his social media that he is a Christian father of two.
He has been held on $50,000 bail.
